our story
My name is Valentyna. I came to the UK in 2022, with my daughter Nataliia and her 2-year-old son, and I am staying with hosts in Birkdale, Southport.
Nataliia drove from Kyiv, setting off on the day the war started. We are so grateful for the welcome and support we have received from the people of the UK, especially in Southport and Liverpool, who have shown us so much hospitality.
In return, we would like to invite you to get acquainted with our country’s cuisine. We bake and cook our favourite, popular and traditional food from Ukraine. You can view and order the food you like, and we will cook it for you:

How We Started?
I am a Scientist and previously worked in the Department of Plant Physiology and Virology at the Agricultural University in Kyiv. I also have a PhD from the Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In 2005, I became a businesswoman working in the refrigeration industry as a partner in a company which still works successfully today.
I had to leave this work to travel to the UK when the war started, and I miss it, but I love to cook as a hobby and decided to try to find a way to share a taste of Ukraine with people in the UK, as a way of saying thank you.
I cook traditional dishes and also food that is popular in Ukraine.
My daughter Nataliia, a professional baker and pastry chef, is responsible for cakes for special occasions.
Settling In
I could not speak any English when I arrived in the UK. I am working hard to improve with regular lessons and college courses, but I am still not confident speaking. Hence, communication by email, text, Facebook or Telegram is better than a phone call.
Since coming to the UK, I have achieved a Level 2 award in Food Safety for Catering in January 2023.
My daughter, Nataliia, who does some baking, also has the same award, which she achieved in April 2022.
My business is registered with Sefton Council under the name “From Ukraine with love” and achieved the top rating of 5 from our Food Hygiene inspection in April 2023.
Allergens
All food is supplied with labels listing ingredients and providing instructions on preparation if needed. Many dishes are suitable or easily adapted for Vegetarians, and some are suitable for Vegans. I am always happy to talk about your requirements, preferably by text or email.
Allergens are clearly identified both on the website and on the labels.
I offer some products made without specific allergens, such as Gluten, Nuts, and Dairy, and I am also happy to adapt recipes on request when possible. Please ask!
However, please keep in mind that all products are made in a kitchen where these allergens are used, and although I take great care to avoid cross-contamination in line with FSA guidance, I cannot promise that no traces of allergens will be present.

We cater for a range of events. Order for one, for a family or a dinner party of up to 10 people. We look forward to preparing our meals for you to enjoy.
